Astrologer should know that Vedic astrology is not just another subject like Mathematics and Physics. It is considered as a sacred subject. Such fine knowledge cannot reach an irresponsible person. So, Maharishis have set some guidelines for the ethical behaviour of Astrologer. One should impart this knowledge to worthy, honest and God-fearing astrologers who have great respect for their teacher and who always speak truth. In Indian culture, one's relationship with a giver of knowledge is that of a servant with one's master.

     Astrologer should also maintain dignity while offering astrological consultations. Astrologer should approach astrological consultations with the spirit of service of humanity. Astrologer possesses special knowledge of a sacred or divine subject and he should help those who need guidance. Astrologer should be spiritually oriented and he should realize that his knowledge is priceless.

     Astrologer should always be positive when making predictions. Negative predictions should be made with a restrained tone. Astrologer may gently caution the clients about an impending danger and suggest remedial measures and precautions, but he should not scare the clients. Negative predictions should be made only when some preventive action is suggested. Negative predictions made just for fame or the sensation value brings unhappiness and bad impact on the image of Astrologer.
