World and Vastu Rule |
| The Indian
mythological ages – Krita, Satya, Dwapar and Kali –
are in fact are accounts of rise and fall of virtuous qualities
through various period of history of life. Considering these
aspects, the validity of Vastushastra rules can easily be
traced to the laws of nature itself.
|
|
|
The wealth, the
truth, the religious adherence, the cruelty, the abnormalities,
the poverty, the famine – all these factors can be easily
be correlated with the Vastushastra rules as applied to the directional
aspects evident in various era. The two guiding principles; (1)
relative heaviness of the South direction, and (2) location of the
water in the North can explain the modalities of these relationships. |
|
In Vastushastra,
the North and the East directions are associated with divine qualities.
The North and the East are the source directions for the Jaivik
geomagnetic energy and the Pranik solar energy respectively. The
smooth and free flow of these natural energy current is traced to
the qualities of the Akash Tatva, the medium for event manifestation.
Any interruptions or obstacles in the natural flow of these energy
sources portend disintegration and destruction. Interestingly, even
in the Yogashastra, all the auspicious and virtuous qualities of
the Chandra Nadi are associated with the Northeast zone only. |
|
|
As per the principles
stated in the Puranas, we in fact can establish a link between the
degeneration process in an era and the deficiencies or flaws in
the qualitative aspects of the North and the East directions. |
|
In the con ‘Krita’,
the earth was on heavier side in the South with the most of the
landmass located in the South zone. Similarly almost the entire
North zone was under water. Over a period of time the Southern landmass
started shifting towards the North. The poles of the earth shift
by 1 minute of an arc every 100 years. As per the present scientific
predictions, the North and the South poles are likely to interchange
their positions in about a million years. |
|
The scientifically
analysed movement of the continents towards the North and flooding
of the Southern landmass can be interpreted in terms of the violent
end prophesied for the ‘Kali Yuga’. |
|
Vastushastra considers
the combination of location of water in the South and massive North
zone as pointer towards total destruction, while Yogashastra says
that cruel and violent acts can result from the influence of the
Surya Nadi which circulates within the confines of the South zone.
The ‘Kali Yuga’ will come to an end after the major
landmass of the earth has accumulated in the North zone. At the
same time, the interchange of the North and South poles will herald
beginning of a new era. |
|
In relation to different
zones in a structure, the elements which are predominant are as
following. |
|
The north-east (NE)
zone is assigned to water. It is the appropriate place for a borewell,
a pond, or an underground water tank. |
The south-east (SE)
zone is assigned to fire. The fire element gives the energy and
necessary impetus for growth and initiative. Your kitchen, pantry,
furnace or boiler should be placed there. |
The north-west (NW)
zone is assigned to air. The property of air is movement, so it
is a good place to keep finished goods as they will move fast. If
your guest room is located here. Guests are not likely to stay for
long. |
The south-west (SW)
zone is assigned to earth. The earth element gives stability and
determination. This is a good zone for master bedroom. |
The centre is assigned
to space. This is a sacred area. Keep it empty and free of heavy
furniture so that auspicious energies can circulate in the house. |
Just as an imbalance
of the elements within our body creates discomfort and disease,
likewise an imbalance of the elements in our living environment
disturbs our body charkas. This causes stress, tension, diseases
and disorders in the body. |
An imbalance of
earth element in our immediate environment, for example, a depression
in the south-west, a water source in the south-west or the south-west
corner being cut off, can lead to loss of control in your business,
health or family. |
An imbalance in
the water element like the north-east being raised or having a heat
source, or the north-east being cut off, can restrict family growth
and prosperity. |
The goal of Vastushastra
is to enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of the
occupants of a building. It does so by ensuring that the plot is
fully energised, and the building is in harmony wit the cosmic elements.
It ensures that by creating a harmonious space you will be able
to face the difficulties of life without much negativity. |
With Vastu we are
not changing our destiny. Vastu changes and modifications cannot
take precedence over astrological indications. Vastu can create
contentment in our lives within a framework defined by our astrological
charts. Vastu comes under the area of free will given to man, wherein,
with conscious thought and action, life can be given a positive
direction. Vastu cannot supersede the indications in a horoscope.
But can optimise the positive signals and reduce the impact of depressing
indications in one’s horoscope. Basically man is governed
by the framework indicated by our individual horoscopes but at the
same time we can regulate the probable disturbance by proper construction
and selection of a house. |
The benefits of
Vastu are many. At the physical level, it provides comfort and convenience,
and a user-friendly environment that is full of space and light.
At the psychological level, because of the aesthetic environment
it creates, there is a feeling of well-being, Tensions lessen and
relationships improve. |
AT the spiritual
level, a person’s sense of harmony deepens. In fact, meditation
and the rituals connected with Vastu Shanti and Vastu Pujan contribute
greatly to enhancing the positive vibrations that Vastu creates. |
